Meet our Leaders

Pastor Scott Blomquist

I was born in Wisconsin but grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. I grew up going to church all my life (Presbyterian, Lutheran & Methodist). We rarely missed church, but I missed the gospel in all those places. Did I never hear it in those churches, or was my heart hard?

Thankfully, on Sunday at 16, I heard the gospel of Jesus Christ and believed. I knew He would want me to change things, so I fought Him for 10 years not fully letting him into my life. Finally in my mid 20's, life brought me to a fork in the road - lose Jesus or lose loved ones who didn't want Jesus in my life.

I chose Jesus. The defining moment for me was when I cried out to the Lord, "I'm more terrified of not having you in my life than what you will do to it." From that moment on my faith in God grew.

The Lord then brought a wonderful, godly woman into my life, my wife Pamela. We were active in our church in Chicago. Two years after recommitting my life to Jesus, I felt a calling ministry. I quit my job and went to seminary. I attended and graduated from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago with a master's degree in divinity. After seminary the plan was to go to a church in Wisconsin, we visited the church numerous times and the plan was set.

Then like the Apostle Paul, the door was closed by God. It was an extremely frustrating time. Looking back it was part of the refining process the Lord puts His followers through. Uncertain about the future the Lord opened the door to come to Montana. Montana to us, growing up in Chicago was akin to Lewis and Clark's heading out on their great journey.

We could have never imagined the blessing bringing us to Anaconda would be. We moved to Anaconda Montana in October 2002. All 3 of our children; Thomas 21, Noah 19, and Maddie 16 were born in Montana. In my journey above I've learned that God will lead us down unlikely journeys, but we can trust Him always.

I have lived my entire life in Anaconda. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Melissa. I grew up in this church and now serve as an elder. I also play in the worship band as the drummer. I am retired from the USPS.

Dave Olsen - Elder

My life didn't amount to much until I met my beautiful wife, Mary. She introduced me to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. My life was transformed forever.
After I finished school with Mary's help, we settled down in Anaconda where I worked as a nurse for 33 years and retired in 2018. During that time, we were blessed with 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
We attended Grace shortly after moving to Anaconda and I was baptized in 1987. We have served faithfully.
I enjoy fishing, hiking, and playing the guitar and bass. I'm happy that my children and grand-kids are close enough to see on a regular basis.
